Nerd Porn: Stars Wars and Evangelion

If you’re a guy, your eyes will probably go straight to her Star Wars fight scene near her baby-maker, but for me, it went straight to her Evangelion forearm tattoo. Evangelion is EASILY my favorite anime, and EASILY my favorite series of anything – ever. I cant even get started on how much I love it, but I love this girl and I am totally inspired (again) to get a Neon Genesis Evangelion tattoo myself. As if I didnt have enough tattoo ideas lined up already.

We salute you, lady.

Now, I stopped suggesting people watch Evangelion a long time ago, because it’s a bit of a mind freak and It takes a certain kind of person to really get into it and understand it. Although, I DO suggest you Wikipedia it, read up on it a bit, and see if it tickles you in any way. Here’s the gist:

“Evangelion is an apocalyptic mecha action series which revolves around the efforts by the paramilitary organization Nerv to fight monstrous beings called Angels, primarily using giant mecha called Evangelions which are piloted by select teenagers, one of whom is the primary protagonist.

Events in the series refer to Judeo-Christian symbols from the Book of Genesis and Biblical apocrypha among others.[6] Later episodes shift focus to psychoanalysis of the main characters, who display various emotional problems and mental illnesses;[7][8] the nature of existence and reality are questioned in a way that lets Evangelion be characterized as “postmodern fantasy

It’s well beyond any other “Giant Robot” anime – it’s a little heavy while touching on subjects of religion and mental illness, so while I feel everyone should give it a shot, it’s not for everybody, but it might be for you. If I can give this series one more fan, that’s good enough for me.

i kind of feel like evangelion is one of those nerd prerequisites where if you haven’t seen it you’re confronted with blank stares and disquieting feeling that people are questioning being in your presence. kind of like if you haven’t seen wrath of khan or don’t know whoa samus aran is.

and probably upon seeing those tattoos the majority of your readers just ejaculated womp rats through their noses.

I rspeect you honesty in the reason why you want tattoos, most ppl get them because everyone’s doing it and they want to be “cool”. But anyway, I’ve always stayed away from lower back tattoos just because I never want anyone or myself to be able to say I have a tramp stamp…just in my opinion. I have meaningful pieces I’ve gotten in other places because it doesn’t matter what the tattoo is, it has a bad reputation in that spot. Also I got my first tattoo on my thigh when I was 16, I has no problems with stretching or anything, you wont grow that much more. So basically you can get it anywhere. Maybe wrapped around your calf or wrapped inside your arm or on your shoulder.

Hey, did you get any eva tattoo? ^^

  5. Emanuel Says:

well, one of the evas could probably work if it’s a good tattooer. could you consider like a nerv logo or similar? or any of the characters? a couple of inspirational shots, the only two I liked when I googled, can be found here: http://img864.imageshack.us/i/img5788n.jpg/ and here: http://img818.imageshack.us/i/2qxlzir.jpg/ 🙂

I have seen Neon Genesis Evangelion and I liked it up until the last, I believe, 4 or 5 episodes. It is almost like they finished the season’s big fight against the ‘Big Bad’ (If you’re a Buffy fan you’ll get that refrence.) and were hoping for another but the plug was pulled on it so we were left with a couple random fillers.

If you like Neon Genesis Evangelion I would recommend that you watch Eureka Seven. It is done by the same people who did the original Full Metal Alchemist and the newer series Soul Eater. It has the Giant Mechas like Eva, but I personally think it has more of an emotional pull on the viewer, or at least for me. Again, this is all my opinion.
