New Year, New ….News?

January 6, 2012

First of all, Happy New Year! Secondly – ever look at a word too long and start to realize how weird it looks, then you think you’re spelling it wrong? I just had that moment while typing the title for this blog. New. What a weird-looking word. Anyways!

I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. I’ve been a horrible blogger. I’ve been so busy with so many things. Also, i’ve been lazy. Really lazy. I’m not even going to lie. I’ll do my best to catch you all up on everything, but if you follow me on Twitter than you probably already have an idea. I am really glad that I can finally announce that I was chosen from hundreds of applicants to be on the show Sony Playstation The Tester: Season 3! Out of hundreds, twelve hardcore gamers are picked to live in a house with each other, and compete in video game related challenges. Every week someone is eliminated based on performance in said challenges! There are a lot of surprises in eliminations and for the most part, it’s never easy to say goodbye to your room-mates, who become more like family as the days go by. There is the obvious drama – no doubt about that, but you’ll have to watch to fully appreciate it. We are all competing for a chance to be in the final episode, where the top three gamers compete against each other for the ultimate reward. The reward is a job, working on an unreleased title at Santa Monica studios. Which is a HUGE deal – Santa Monica is responsible for the God of War series. Being able to work there would be a dream for most avid gamers. As if that wasn’t enough, there are other tech prizes, a $5,000 signing bonus and a fucking car. So, yeah, as much as we all loved each other, shit gets REAL interesting when you’re all competing for all of that. The Tester Season 3 airs Febuary 7th. Until then, check out the cast bios and videos on the site

I did some photo-shoots recently that I haven’t posted. Namely just fun stuff, tattoo magazine stuff,  my favorite of which was this comic book themed shoot where I was both a hero, and a villain. If I were to actually pursue a career in villainy – sequin booty shorts would probably actually be my first choice as far as costuming goes. Totally practical. I have some projects lined up that are Playstation/Video Game themed – Which im excited for. I dont model much anymore, unless its a favor – but any nerdy project, sign me the hell up.

I have been an avid World of Warcraft nerd since the game made its debut. I can talk about that game for hours. So you’re best not to get me started. It really made me a true fan of MMO games. Ultima Online was like my gate-way drug of MMO’s, and WoW sealed the deal. Now, outside of loving MMO games and talking shit to assholes on vent, I really love the Star Wars universe. Maybe more than I love dragons – and thats a lot. So, now with the release of Star Wars: The Old Republic I had to hang up my wands and potions, and oh, any and all of my spare time. With the epic-fucking-fail that was Star Wars: Galaxies, I was a little concerned. I felt a little better knowing BioWare was involved, and as I ferociously YouTubed game play videos, I realized then this was truly going to be a gem. I had no idea just how great, though. Im sorry, but the story in this game ( IN MY OPINION ) blows Warcrafts out of the water. The ability to make decisions through your quests is fantastic. The voice acting is amazing. All the races and classes are great – I STILL cant decide what class to focus on leveling, because they are all truly so fun. The environments are fantastic – and this game still stays true to the heart of the Star Wars lore and universe. Basically, Im in love. If I didn’t learn self control during my Warcraft days, id play this game for day with little to know sleep. Lets just talk about what a babe my Chiss Bounty Hunter Mercenary is. Seriously. You can find her on the server Tarentatek. Her name is Pryde. Add her up!

I’d also like to point out how much will power it took to chose to do this blog entry rather than level her up. That’s a big deal. Any pathetically addicted MMO’er will know.

Father Of The Millenium.

September 27, 2011

I came across this article and it absolutely melted my heart. I think because I have such a great father, reading stuff like this just makes me that much more excited. A father of two, took his children to the Sequoia National Park on a vacation. Both he and his children are avid Star Wars fans, and he told them that this is where Ewoks lived. After they spent some time exploring and searching for Ewoks, they returned home, and he quickly got to work Photoshopping some Ewok friends into the pictures. Some would argue that this is perpetuating a lie he told his children, or that it’s no different from lying to the kids about Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. How is it any different from leaving presents under a tree, or eggs around the yard? Whats wrong with letting kids be kids and letting hem exercise their imaginations. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this, and think this dad is doing a fantastic job and keeping his kids excited and happy. I .can imagine, that If I were his kids, I would look back on all this years from now and just hug the shit out of my dad immediately. Here is what he had to say about it:

“A year ago we took a trip to Sequoia National Park. I wanted to excite my daughter while being in such amazing surroundings. Being the Star Wars geek that I am (so is she), I told her that this is where the Ewoks live. She spent a good chunk of our time hiking keeping a lookout for any Ewoks. Coming home I can’t say that she wasn’t disappointed that we didn’t find any. I had to explain that they are extremely shy and hardly ever let anyone see them. After we got home, and after I had a little time alone with the photos, I told her I thought I saw something strange in a few pictures. We viewed them on the TV to get a larger image. You can imagine how surprised and excited she was when we discovered that we didn’t see any Ewoks, but they saw us, and had certainly taken an interest in her and her little brother. Maybe I’m a little wrong for lying to her and falsifying the pictures, but I don’t care. She’ll never forget the time she spent in the big woods with Ewoks.”

Dinner on the Death Star.

April 3, 2011

Tonight I wasn’t sure what I wanted for dinner, all I knew is whatever I got, I wanted to eat it with my Light-saber Chopsticks. I have Vader’s, and a pair that are a few inches shorter, that are Yoda’s. I often base my lunch and dinner decisions around using these things – and yes, I do bring them out to restaurants with me. I’m embarrassing.

I was at my favorite place in the world, Tates Comics, and found this little guy! He’s a keychain that I keep on my bike bag, and is pretty much the cutest. He just says the sweetest things:

My First Time: Things I Love Thursday!

August 12, 2010

Things I Love Thursday is a popular blog trend. You pretty much use Thursdays to tell people what you like. I like things, and I also like sharing. So here is my little new contribution! I am excited to do this every Thursday. Im going to try and learn photoshop so i can do a better, numbered composition of the items. My dear friend San inspired me to do this!

1.  Final Fantasy 13: I love this game! I am a huge fan of the series and its always a fantastic day when a new one is about to come out. It’s more exciting than Christmas. To me, at least. I was ding really well in this game until I got stuck pretty bad, I got discouraged and put it down for a while and recently forced myself back into it and im glad I did. I love the characters in this so much! Fang and Sahz are the best.

2. Sloths: Sloths are cute. They dont even really make sense. I love them. Go to youtube and watch some Sloth videos and I bet they’ll be on YOUR  Things I Love Thursday.

3. Espresso Con Panna: Espresso and whipped cream. It’s simple and delicious, and with a little caramel or white chocolate on top, its pretty much a dessert. I work at a coffee shop and this is probably my favorite drink!

4. Saddle Shoes: I love black + white as a color combination and I always thought the 1950’s Saddle Shoes were super cute. Recently they have become trendy, I think, because I see them all over! Urban Outfitters and Vans both make a design that I love, and I wear my Vans soft leather Saddle Shoe all the time while im biking. Really retro and simple!

5. Yellow Eyeshadow:  Since I wear a of black, I like to wear lots of color in my makeup and nails. Yellow eyeshadow is both a little unconventional and loud. I get lot of looks and compliments when I wear it. I also think it looks good on all skin-tones.

6. Baby Blue Nail Polish: I really love light polish, and I have been wearing a lot of OPI “Havana Dreams” and its great. Its soft and still flashy.

7. Soft Pink Lips: If I decided to go heavy on my eye makeup I wear a really pigmented soft pink lipstick. Revlon “Gentlemen Prefer Pink” is great and long lasting.

8. Black “Super” Skinny Jeans: I think everyone should own a pair. Super flattering and a wardrobe staple. With Super skinnies I can tuck them into my boots without any bunching, or wear them with heels. They’re perfect. Just a little hard to take off.

9. High Messy Buns: I pretty much wear my hair like this all the time because its hot out, and im lazy. I just tease my hair out a little and throw it up high on my head, and throw on a headband or some bows. It looks like you tried, but you really didnt. At all.

Also, something else I love, a cute hobbit gets a Star Wars tattoo on LA Ink!

Dominic Monaghan played the Hobbit, Merry Brandybuck, in Lord of the Rings, and he is getting a Star Wars quote tattooed.  Pretty amazing!

Also, here he is in a music video with Megan Fox, who is also very popular in the geek world. And every other world:

TGIF!

July 23, 2010

Friday, again! I’ve been busy working this week, and my weekend will consist of more of the same. My job is great, so I dont sweat it at all. My only other plans this weekend are maybe a photoshoot for a friend, and lots and lots of bike riding I hope!

I have some posts lined up, now I just need to make time to post them! We are supposed to get a Tropical Storm this weekend, so I may be stuck in doors playing video games ( if the power doesnt go out! ) which I certainly wouldnt mind either – but I do really want to ride my bike, so we’ll see. I’ve been boring lately, but I started drawing again! So thats good! I used to love drawing so much but stopped for some reason, I have been motivated by some really god artsy friends of mine to get back into it again and im glad I have. I’ll share some pictures in my next post.

my hair is getting so long!

Have a fancy weekend everyone – and as always, if you’re up to something fun, comment and share it with me!
